Overview

Moon Valley began as an organic vegetable farm near North Bend, Washington. They dreamed of expanding their business to include organic skincare that truly embodied the spirit of “farm to table”, wanting to grow their ingredients in a sustainable, earth-friendly way. Their dedication to sustainability and organic farming practices led their products to become USDA-certified organic in 2009. They also partnered with World Wide Opportunities On Organic Farms (WWOOF) to educate and provide hands-on experience to aspiring organic farmers. 

The Moon Valley product line started with just 4 bar soaps, the Rejuvenating Rub, Lip Balms, and of course the ever-popular Lotion Bar. Their product lines have expanded to include medicinal salves developed with the help of Dr. Daniel Newman M.D., plastic waste-preventing shampoo bars, a much-beloved body wash, foaming hand soap, hair oil treatments, and more!


Situation

In early 2022, Moon Valley was putting a strategy in place to increase product sales for their Amazon storefront. To make this process successful Moon Valley connected with SellerSlice, a Seattle-based agency with expertise in transforming seller growth across the Amazon platform. Amazon’s A+ Content feature allows brand owners to change the products that are presented to potential customers dramatically. Using this powerful tool, it permits brands to describe important product features in a robust way by including enhanced images, brand videos, a unique brand story, and text placements instead of a simple block of text. Through this tool, SellerSlice was able to effectively optimize the customer viewpoint of Moon Valley’s products resulting in higher conversion rates, increased traffic, and increased sales.

Additionally, online coupon offerings and promos were utilized to drive traffic to Moon Valley’s listings in a highly competitive category. This was further enhanced by optimizing their product listings using the SellerSlice proprietary method for textual and visual elements. Product detail pages were thoroughly re-engineered to make them more informative and eye-catching. The listings were organized in a well-tested manner to streamline the overall consumer shopping experience resulting in a higher conversion rate. We also utilized the metadata for product listings, which were appropriately adjusted to contribute to optimal search results in Amazon’s comprehensive and highly competitive catalog.


Results

SellerSlice was able to increase Moon Valley’s revenue significantly by implementing strategies of content optimization, enrolling the brand in available Amazon programs like Subscribe & Save, and implementing strategically planned coupon promotions and discounts. Average monthly revenue increased 345% from March 2022 to December 2022. Year-over-year revenue from March 2022 to March 2023 increased 603%, and the average monthly revenue growth from March 2022 to March 2023 was 42%.
